JOB SUMMARY
Provides drugs and drug consultations to patients, families, employees, nurses, doctors, and allied health providers, both in the hospital and in the community, as appropriate. Exhibits behaviors consistent with standards for performance improvement, service excellence and organizational values of Integrity, Trust, Relationship, and Vitality.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential job functions
1. Provides timely patient-oriented cost-effective care.
2. Provides appropriate drugs in appropriate formulations and frequencies to patients
   of the hospital to ensure positive outcomes.
3. Dispenses drugs efficiently and in compliance with policies and procedures of the
    department, and state and federal regulations. Includes appropriate labeling and
    clearly understood directions.
4. Performs the functions of Pharmacy Tech in the absence of personnel available to
    fulfill those duties.
5. Takes call on scheduled work days.
6. Fosters safety awareness, injury prevention and risk management in all aspects of
    performance.
7. Assists in the development of indicators, thresholds, study methods, and data
    collection in support of the hospital's Performance Improvement initiative.
8. Completes mandatory training as required for position.
9. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Graduation from an accredited School of Pharmacy with current Registered Pharmacist and controlled substance licensure from the Idaho State Board of Pharmacy.
- Ability and willingness to demonstrate maintain competencies required for Staff
  Pharmacist.
- Excellent communication skills to include oral and written comprehension and
  expression.
- Ability and willingness to work with patients’ growth and development needs
  particularly related to the age of patients.
- Ability to manage a multi-tasking work environment related to changing patient
  needs, including work with patients with acute, chronic, and complex disease
  processes, and those who are dying.
- Ability and willingness to exhibit behaviors consistent with standards for performance
  improvement, service excellence and organizational values of Integrity, Trust,
  Relationship, and Vitality. (See VI. Values)


WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Risk of exposure to: Blood & Bodily fluids , Odors, Chemicals, Disease ,
TB (to require mask) , Mechanical/Electrical, Air Borne Organisms, Latex, Hazardous Drugs, Bio/Chemical Hazard, Radiation

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Continuous handling (holding, grasping, working w/hands); fingering (pinching, picking, working w/fingers).
Continuous need for vision-near acuity (corrected vision at 20 inches or less); color vision (identify and distinguish color).
Continuous need to hear and talk in quiet and noisy surroundings; hear and talk over the phone.
Frequent sitting; standing; walking; bending/stooping; kneeling; squatting; twisting/turning from waist; right/left foot movement (use of pedals).
Occasional running; driving; climbing; pushing/pulling objects with and without wheels; moving objects vertically and horizontally 40 lbs.
Occasional need for feeling (size, shape, temperature, texture by finger receptors); endurance (requiring cardiovascular fitness); vision – far acuity (corrected vision at 20 ft or more); depth perception (judge 3 dimensions, distance and space); field of vision (see up, down, left, right while eyes are fixed); sense of smell and taste.
